The Marathon and Half Marathon
No Walker Should Miss!
I'm working on an article for WALK! Magazine about the top 10
Marathons and Half Marathons walkers shouldn't miss. Now, we all have
our favorites, but I'm talking about the best of the best. If you could
only do 10 events, what would they be? Cost should not be an issue.
E-mail your suggestions to Cindi Leeman, editor/publisher.

Photos
We just got back from the New Albany 10K
and the Fox Cities Marathon PowerWalk in
Appleton, Wis. Check out the photos! The
Walking Team at both events had a great
time. The group of five who walked the
Appleton PowerWalk together became
affectionately known as the "Girls in Green." I
can't wait to see where we go next year!
2008 USA Race Walking Grand Prix Series
Dates: February 1 - October 26, 2008
The USA Race Walking Grand Prix (USARWGP), now in its 5th year, is an effort by
USATF to crown an overall champion for each competitive year based upon the
National Championship schedule of events. Races are contested from 1 mile to 50
km for men and women.
The 2008 USARWGP will have 11 races in the traditional Open division, of which
seven will include team scoring. The Junior Grand Prix, for athletes under 20 years of
age, will include eight events, with distances ranging from 5,000 m to 20 km.
The wide range in distances provides the top race walkers in the U.S. an opportunity
to compete against each other all year long and aids in developing the next group of
international-level athletes.
To check out the events, visit the USATF Race Walking Grand Prix.
